Most renovation headaches happen in the gap between architect and builder. Schlickmann Construction closes that gap with in-house design — architectural drawings, 3D rendering, and selections all delivered by the same team that builds the project.
Traditional renovation projects involve hiring an architect, then bidding the plans to multiple contractors, then managing the inevitable change orders when the architect's drawings don't match what's buildable. We eliminate that loop.
Our design service includes existing-conditions measurements, schematic design, 3D rendering of every space, full construction drawings stamped by a Massachusetts-registered architect when required, and complete selections — cabinets, countertops, tile, fixtures, paint, hardware. Everything delivered as a fixed-price construction-ready package.

Common Questions About Design Services
No. Our design package is a separate deliverable. About 90% of our design clients choose to build with us because of the integrated process, but you can take our drawings to any licensed contractor.
Bathrooms and small projects: $2,500–$5,000 design fee. Kitchens: $5,000–$10,000. Whole-home renovations: $12,000–$25,000. The design fee is credited against the construction contract if you build with us.
Yes — we have an in-house designer who selects cabinets, hardware, tile, paint, fixtures, lighting, and flooring. Selections are coordinated with the construction proposal so there are no surprises later.
Bathroom: 3–4 weeks. Kitchen: 5–7 weeks. Whole-home or addition: 8–14 weeks including permitting. We move fast — most architects take 2–3× as long.
